FUTURE JOBS 2026 – TPV COMPANIES PROVIDE HANDS-ON CAREER INSIGHTS

On April 15, the tpv Technology Park Villach will transform into a dynamic learning and experience space: companies based at the tpv, additional regional businesses, as well as CUAS and University of Klagenfurt will provide students with practical insights into professional fields and career opportunities.

As part of the career orientation project “future jobs [campus]” organized by Berufs- und Bildungsorientierung Kärnten (BBOK), 8th-grade students from upper secondary schools (AHS) will have the opportunity to experience typical tasks of participating companies firsthand in mini-workshops. This allows them to discover exciting career options early on – after completing their Matura (Austria’s upper secondary school leaving certificate) – and gain realistic insights into the working world through direct exchange with professionals from business and research.

Companies interested in presenting their professional fields at this year’s edition of “future jobs [campus]” can register until February 27, 2026.

“FUTURE JOBS [CAMPUS]” 2026 AT TPV

On April 15, around the 200 students from Villach’s grammar schools and the International School of Carinthia (ISC) in Velden are expected at the tpv Technology Park Villach. The event begins at 8:15 a.m. in the Audimax of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) with an official welcome and a keynote speech titled “My Journey into a High-Tech Company” by a researcher from Silicon Austria Labs GmbH. From 9:00 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., hands-on workshops will take place in four 45-minute sessions. The workshops will be held either in the CUAS foyer, in lecture halls, or directly on the premises of the tpv-based companies.

In small groups, students will immerse themselves in typical company activities in an interactive and practical way – for example, conducting experiments, working in a cleanroom environment, or visiting specialized laboratories. The workshops are complemented by short presentations and impulses highlighting career prospects and educational pathways after the Matura. The event concludes with a relaxed get-together for all cooperation partners in the CUAS foyer.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE AS A COMPANY

Companies wishing to join as workshop partners can register until February 27, 2026. A brief company profile and a short workshop description are all that is required.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

We are looking for companies, educational institutions, and research organizations that would like to present professions requiring at least a Matura qualification. Particular focus is placed on the fields of new technologies and research, health and social services, as well as climate protection and sustainability.

WHY PARTICIPATE?

The 45-minute workshops give companies the opportunity to connect with young talent at an early stage, establish direct contact with students, and showcase future prospects within the region. At the same time, they can act as role models for the skilled professionals of tomorrow and provide hands-on insights into their industry.
