RIVERSIDE GRANDSTAND AS A NEW COMMUNICATION PLATFORM

800 researchers and employees, 1000 students, and 100 apprentices: Villach Technology Park is continuously growing. The infrastructure of the high-tech center has now been improved.
The Villach Technology Park (tpv) is one of Carinthia's most important research facilities. Around 800 employees, 1000 students, and 100 apprentices characterize the image of a dynamically growing high-tech facility, which also boasts Austria's largest research clean room.
Most recently, there was a call for a modern outdoor communication platform. This has now been implemented - with a so-called riverside grandstand. It offers opportunities to linger directly on the Drau river and opens the tpv to the water. It was realized in the form of seating steps on the river embankment. Special embankment plantings, grass cultures, and trees complement the grandstand, which is partly covered with larch wood. The adjacent cycle path was relocated by a few meters.

"The constant expansion of the tpv to almost 2000 people is important for Villach as an economic and research location. Satisfied employees are a central factor in this growth process. Therefore, improvements like the riverside grandstand, which blends in excellently with the surroundings, are needed," says Mayor Günther Albel.
Bernhard Lamprecht, Managing Director of tpv Technologiepark Villach, emphasizes: "The riverside grandstand offers space for communication, exchange, and recreation. At the same time, it opens up new possibilities: thanks to the Wi-Fi provided by the cooperation partners City of Villach, tpv, and Kelag, you can move your workplace outdoors. This creates a place where nature, work, and innovation are connected. This underlines the attractiveness of the Technology Park as a high-tech location."
