YOUR OPINION MATTERS: HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE TECHNOLOGY PARK
As part of an exciting collaboration between the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) and the Technology Park Villach, new ideas and opportunities for developing the outdoor and riverside areas of the Technology Park are currently being explored. Your input is essential!
Together with a team of five students from the Intercultural Management degree program, led by Prof. Svetlana Buko, the Technology Park Villach is working on a concept for the future design of the park areas.
The aim is to better understand how the existing outdoor and riverside spaces are currently being used, and what improvements are desired by those who work, study, or spend their time in the Technology Park.
THE STUDENTS' PROJECT TIMELINE
Throughout the summer semester, the student team will develop a comprehensive concept for the Technology Park, in close collaboration with its management.
This project consists of three main phases:
- Phase 1: User Survey
A survey is currently being conducted to gather insights into how the park areas are used, as well as users’ needs and ideas for improvement.
- Phase 2: Best Practice Research
Successful examples from other technology parks and university campuses will be analyzed – particularly in the areas of recreation, outdoor activities, as well as food and mobility services.
- Phase 3: Future Concept
Finally, an overall concept will be developed, including both short-term measures ("quick wins") and a long-term vision for the next ten years.
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
The survey is aimed at all groups in the Technology Park Villach: employees of companies and organizations, research institutions, students and CUAS staff, kindergartens and parents, as well as residents of the STUWO student housing. Your feedback will help identify current needs and generate new ideas for recreational, social, and functional areas within the Technology Park.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
You can take part in the survey until May 18, 2026. It only takes about 3–5 minutes to complete and, of course, all responses are anonymous.
